Saul Gabriel Millan is a multi-instrumentalist and composer from the border town of Nogales, Sonora/Arizona. Through performance, visual scores, and sculpture, Millan explores sound, and its unique responsibility in completing and altering reality.
Through the use of collage and performer instructions, Millan creates a codex for sound to be understood beyond mathematical representations of tonality or rhythm. Imagery used in these visual scores derive from personal, pop culture, and mythological iconography. Millan often performs with a wide array of collaborators and orchestrates his work for Duet, Trio, Quartet and Quintet. Since 2022, Saul Gabriel Millan has presented exhibitions at Museo de Arte de Sonora (MUSAS) (Hermosillo, Sonora), Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana-Casa Rafael Galvan (Cuidad de Mexico), and Palabra Collective (Phoenix, AZ).
